Commonuse

Femilon is a combined oral contraceptive pill used to prevent pregnancy. It contains synthetic estrogen and progesterone hormones that inhibit ovulation, alter cervical mucus, and change the uterine lining to prevent fertilization and implantation.

Dosage and direction

Take one tablet daily at the same time each day, ideally without missing any doses. After finishing a 21‑day cycle, take a 7‑day break (or placebo pills), during which withdrawal bleeding usually occurs.

Precautions

Inform your doctor if you have a history of blood clots, heart disease, liver disorders, or migraines. Smoking while taking hormonal contraceptives increases the risk of cardiovascular side effects, especially in women over 35.

Missed dose
