Common Use

Vilitra is an oral medication prescribed for treating erectile dysfunction. The medication works through this process:

• Sexual stimulation triggers nitric oxide release in penile nerves
• This activates the enzyme guanylate cyclase
• Guanylate cyclase produces cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)
• cGMP relaxes and widens blood vessels to the penis
• Vilitra prevents PDE-5 enzyme from breaking down cGMP
• This sustains blood flow needed for erection

Dosage and Direction

• Standard dose: 10 mg taken 1 hour before sexual activity
• May increase to 20 mg if well tolerated
• Reduce to 5 mg if side effects occur
• Maximum: One tablet per day

Precautions

Consult your doctor before use if you have:

• History of stroke, heart failure, or recent heart attack (last 6 months)
• Kidney or liver disease
• Bleeding disorders or stomach ulcers
• Retinal disorders like retinitis pigmentosa

Missed Dose

Not applicable - take only as needed before sexual activity (maximum once daily)
