Common Use

Vidalista is a potent, reversible, and selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5), specifically targeting cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). During sexual stimulation, nitric oxide is released locally, and the inhibition of PDE 5 by Vidalista increases cGMP levels in the cavernous body of the penis. This results in the relaxation of arterial smooth muscles, boosting blood flow to the penile tissues, which facilitates erections. Vidalista is ineffective in the absence of sexual stimulation. It enhances erections and supports successful sexual intercourse. The drug's effects last for up to 36 hours, with results potentially noticeable as soon as 16 minutes after ingestion if sexual arousal is present.

Dosage and Direction

The recommended dose of Vidalista is 20 mg, which should be taken at least 16 minutes before sexual activity. Its effects can persist for up to 36 hours. Vidalista should be taken once daily, and the recommended dose should not be exceeded.

Precautions

Avoid consuming Vidalista with grapefruit juice, alcoholic beverages, or tobacco. Smoking tobacco while taking Vidalista may increase the risk of NAION (sudden optic nerve-related vision loss). Inform your doctor before using Vidalista if you have:

• Abnormal penis anatomy, including a curved penis or birth defects
• A history of coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, angina, heart attack, or heart failure
• Hypotension or hypertension
• Bleeding disorders, stomach ulcers, diabetes, or hyperlipidemia
• Sickle-cell anemia, liver failure, or kidney failure

Contraindications

Vidalista is contraindicated in patients using any form of organic nitrate, whether regularly or intermittently, as it can potentiate the hypotensive effects of nitrates.

Possible Side Effects

Common side effects of Vidalista include:

• Facial flushing (reddening)
• Headaches
• Stomach upset, diarrhea, flu-like symptoms, and nausea

Rare side effects may include:

• Low blood pressure
• Blurred vision or changes in color vision
• Abnormal ejaculation
• Prolonged erections or priapism (painful erections lasting more than 6 hours)

If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours, seek immediate medical attention to avoid permanent damage. Vidalista may also exacerbate heart problems in patients with pre-existing heart conditions.

Drug Interactions

Co-administration of Vidalista with medications containing organic nitrates can cause severe hypotension, which can be dangerous. Avoid using Vidalista with:

• Isosorbide Dinitrate or Mononitrate
• Nitroglycerin
• Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate

The following medications may increase Vidalista levels and toxicity:

• Erythromycin
• Ketoconazole (Nizoral)
• Itraconazole (Sporanox)
• Indinavir (Crixivan)
• Ritonavir (Norvir)

Inform your doctor if you are taking any of these medications, as your Vidalista dosage may need adjustment.

Missed Dose

Since Vidalista is used as needed for erectile dysfunction, a missed dose is not applicable.

Overdose

An overdose of Vidalista may intensify side effects. Seek immediate medical assistance if you suspect you have taken too much of this medication.

Storage

Store Vidalista at room temperature, away from moisture, sunlight, children, and pets, in a tightly sealed container.
