Valif is a powerful medication designed to treat erectile dysfunction. It activates only with sexual stimulation. Sexual arousal triggers nitric oxide release from nerve endings in the penis's cavernous bodies, stimulating the guanylate cyclase enzyme. This enzyme produces cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which relaxes and widens blood vessels to increase blood flow to the penis. Valif inhibits the phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) enzyme, preventing cGMP breakdown and sustaining erection during sexual activity.
The standard Valif dose contains 20 mg of Vardenafil in a convenient sachet pack. Take Valif approximately one hour before sexual intercourse. If side effects occur, reduce to 5 mg daily. Never exceed the recommended dose. Always follow your doctor's instructions and avoid using Valif without a prescription.
Avoid Valif if you have experienced a stroke, heart failure, or heart attack, especially within the last six months. Consult your doctor before use if you have severe kidney impairment, bleeding disorders, stomach ulcers, inherited retinal disorders like retinitis pigmentosa, allergies to Vardenafil or similar drugs, penis deformation (e.g., angulation, Peyronie's disease), or conditions predisposing to priapism such as sickle-cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia.
Do not use Valif if hypersensitive to its ingredients or taking organic nitrates. Contraindicated for individuals under 16 years old. Prohibited with HIV protease inhibitors like indinavir or ritonavir.
Valif treatment rarely causes serious side effects, which are usually temporary. Common side effects include:
Rarer side effects may include photosensitivity, hypertension, back pain, watery eyes, hypotension, myalgia, or priapism.
Valif metabolism is slowed by erythromycin, ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), indinavir (Crixivan), and ritonavir (Norvir). Valif may also lower ritonavir and indinavir blood levels. It can intensify chest pain in patients on nitrates by increasing heart rate and lowering blood pressure. Valif enhances blood pressure-lowering effects of alpha-blockers like terazosin (Hytrin). Never combine with organic nitrates.
Valif is used as needed, not more than once daily, so missed doses are not applicable.
Overdose symptoms include back pain, jaw pain, arm pain, chest pain, blindness, blurred vision, decreased vision, or general discomfort. Seek immediate medical help.
Store Valif at room temperature, away from moisture, sunlight, children, and pets.
