Common Use

Theo-24 is an oral bronchodilator medication used to treat symptoms of asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema. Theophylline, its active ingredient, is chemically related to caffeine and helps relax muscles in the lungs and chest. It also reduces the lungs' sensitivity to allergens and other triggers of bronchospasm.

Dosage and Direction

Take Theo-24 orally with or without food or milk. Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew them. If taken once daily, avoid taking it at bedtime.

The recommended starting dose for adults is one 150-milligram tablet every 12 hours, with a maximum daily dose of 600 milligrams. For children aged 6 to 16, the dosage is calculated based on body weight.

Precautions

Use Theo-24 with caution if you have a history of hepatic disease, diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism, or hypertension. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication. • Carbamazepine

• Enoxacin

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose. Resume your regular dosing schedule the next day.

Overdose

Symptoms of Theo-24 overdose may include nausea, restlessness, vomiting, tremors, uneven heartbeats, insomnia, and seizures. Overdose can lead to severe consequences, including death or permanent brain damage. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience these symptoms.

Storage

Store Theo-24 at room temperature (59-77°F or 15-25°C) away from light, moisture, children, and pets. Do not use the medication after the expiration date.
