Common Use

Terazosin hydrochloride is an alpha-1 blocker medication that relaxes arterial smooth muscles and lowers blood pressure. It is prescribed to treat:

• Urinary obstruction caused by an enlarged prostate
• Prostate adenoma
• Arterial hypertension
• Early-stage heart failure
• Hyperlipidemia

Dosage and Direction

Take Terazosin hydrochloride exactly as prescribed, with or without food. Recommended dosage:

• Initial dose: 1 mg once daily before bedtime
• May gradually increase to 10-20 mg once daily as directed

Precautions

• Follow your doctor's instructions carefully
• Do not exceed prescribed dosage
• Take with a full glass of water
• First doses may cause dizziness or blood pressure drops - take at bedtime
• Monitor blood pressure/prostate health regularly

Missed Dose

Overdose

Symptoms requiring immediate medical attention:

• Severe hypotension
• Tachycardia
• Orthostatic collapse
