Common Use

Tapazole (methimazole) is prescribed for the treatment of hyperthyroidism, including Graves disease and toxic nodular goiter. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of thyroid hormones (T3 and T4), helping to restore normal thyroid function and reduce symptoms such as rapid heartbeat, weight loss, and anxiety.

Dosage and Administration

Take Tapazole orally, with or without food, exactly as your healthcare provider instructs. Dosage may be adjusted based on thyroid function tests and clinical response. Do not miss doses; if a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose.

Precautions

Missed Dose

If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the time of the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once.

Overdose

Overdose may cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or more serious complications such as severe hypothyroidism or liver toxicity. Seek immediate medical attention if an overdose is suspected.

Storage

Store Tapazole at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and light. Keep the tablets in their original container and out of reach of children.
