Common Use
Tadalista is a powerful, selective, and reversible inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5), specifically targeting cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). During sexual stimulation, nitric oxide is released locally, and Tadalista inhibits PDE 5, leading to increased cGMP levels in the penile cavernous body. This results in the relaxation of arterial smooth muscles, enhancing blood flow to penile tissues and facilitating erections. Tadalista is only effective with sexual stimulation and does not work without it. The medication enhances erections and aids in achieving successful sexual intercourse. Its effects last up to 36 hours, and with sexual arousal, the onset of action can occur as quickly as 16 minutes after ingestion.
Dosage and Direction
The recommended dosage of Tadalista is 20 mg, which should be taken at least 16 minutes before sexual activity. The effects can persist for up to 36 hours. It is advised to take Tadalista once daily and not to exceed the recommended dose.
Precautions
- Avoid consuming grapefruit juice, alcoholic beverages, or tobacco while using Tadalista.
- Concomitant use of tobacco and Tadalista may increase the risk of NAION (sudden vision loss due to optic nerve damage).
- Consult your doctor before taking Tadalista if you have:
- Abnormal penis structure, such as a curved penis or congenital defects.
- History of coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, angina, heart attack, or heart failure.
- Hypotension or hypertension.
- Bleeding disorders, stomach ulcers, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, sickle cell anemia, or liver/kidney failure.
Contraindications
Tadalista should not be used by patients who are taking any form of organic nitrate, either regularly or intermittently, as it can enhance the hypotensive effects of nitrates.
Possible Side Effects
- Common side effects include facial flushing, headaches, stomach upset, diarrhea, flu-like symptoms, and nausea.
- Rare side effects may include low blood pressure, blurred vision, changes in color vision, and abnormal ejaculation.
- Prolonged erections or priapism (painful erections lasting more than 6 hours) are also possible. Seek immediate medical attention if an erection lasts longer than 4 hours to prevent permanent damage.
- Patients with pre-existing heart conditions may experience aggravated symptoms.
Drug Interactions
- Co-administration with organic nitrates can cause severe hypotension. Avoid using Tadalista with medications like Erythrityl Tetranitrate, Isosorbide Dinitrate, Isosorbide Mononitrate, Nitroglycerin, or Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate.
- Medications such as Erythromycin, Ketoconazole, Itraconazole, Indinavir, and Ritonavir can increase Tadalista levels and toxicity.
- Inform your doctor if you are taking Atazanavir, Bunazosin, Clarithromycin, Doxazosin, Indinavir, Itraconazole, Ketoconazole, Moxisylyte, Nefazodone, Nelfinavir, Phenoxybenzamine, Phentolamine, Prazosin, Saquinavir, Telithromycin, Terazosin, Trimazosin, or Urapidil, as your Tadalista dosage may need adjustment.
Missed Dose
Since Tadalista is taken as needed for erectile dysfunction, a missed dose is not applicable.
Overdose
Overdosing on Tadalista may lead to symptoms similar to its side effects. Seek immediate medical assistance if you suspect an overdose.
Storage
Store Tadalista at room temperature in a tightly sealed container, away from moisture, sunlight, children, and pets.
