Common Use

The active ingredient in Generic Sofosbuvir is Sofosbuvir. Sofosbuvir is a nucleotide analog used in combination with other drugs to treat hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection.

Indications

  • Chronic hepatitis C (genotypes 1, 2, 3, and 4) when combined with pegylated interferon and ribavirin, or ribavirin alone
  • Genotype 1 hepatitis C infection when combined with ledipasvir (interferon-free regimen)
  • HCV patients with HIV coinfection

Dosage and Direction

Adult Dosage

400 mg orally once daily

Recommended Regimens

  • Genotype 1 or 4: Sofosbuvir with peginterferon alfa and ribavirin for 12 weeks
  • Genotype 2: Sofosbuvir with ribavirin for 12 weeks
  • Genotype 3: Sofosbuvir with ribavirin for 24 weeks
  • Patients awaiting liver transplant: Sofosbuvir with ribavirin for up to 48 weeks

Precautions
