Common Use

Sitagliptin is prescribed to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. It works by inhibiting the DPP‑4 enzyme, which increases incretin hormone levels, helping the body release more insulin after meals and reducing glucagon production, leading to better blood‑sugar control.

Dosage and Direction

Take Sitagliptin once daily with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole. The exact dose is determined by your healthcare provider based on kidney function and individual needs. It may be used alone or in combination with other diabetes medications such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin.

Precautions

Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, pancreatitis, liver problems, or a history of heart failure.

Contraindications

Missed Dose

Storage
