Common use

Olumiant is a prescription medication used to treat moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in adults who have not responded well to other treatments. It is also approved for severe alopecia areata and COVID-19-related inflammation in certain hospitalized patients. The active ingredient, Baricitinib, is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor that works by reducing inflammation and regulating the immune system. Olumiant helps relieve symptoms like joint pain, swelling, and stiffness, improving quality of life.

Dosage and direction

The typical dosage of Olumiant is 2 mg once daily, taken by mouth with or without food. In some cases, a 1 mg or 4 mg dose may be prescribed depending on the patient's condition and tolerance.

Precautions
