Metaflam Easy Chews contains meloxicam, a non‑steroidal anti‑inflammatory drug (NSAID) used in veterinary medicine. It provides anti‑inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects by preferentially inhibiting cyclooxygenase‑2 (COX‑2), reducing prostaglandin synthesis that causes pain, fever, and inflammation.
Metaflam Easy Chews is indicated for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, degenerative joint disease, and postoperative pain in dogs.
Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to meloxicam or other NSAIDs. Avoid use in animals with gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding, severe liver, kidney, or heart disease, as well as in dehydrated, hypovolemic, or hypotensive patients.
Do not administer to puppies younger than the minimum age specified by the manufacturer, or to pregnant or lactating animals without veterinary supervision.
Administer orally, preferably with or after food.
Dosage should be based on the animal's body weight and a veterinarian's recommendation. Do not exceed the prescribed dose or treatment duration.
Rare adverse effects may include vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and lethargy.
In very rare cases, gastrointestinal ulceration, renal impairment, or hypersensitivity reactions can occur. Discontinue treatment and consult a veterinarian if any adverse reactions are observed.
Signs of overdose may include gastrointestinal disturbances, depression, and renal dysfunction. In case of overdose, seek veterinary care and provide symptomatic and supportive treatment.
Avoid concurrent use of other NSAIDs or glucocorticoids.
Ensure adequate hydration during therapy.
Use with caution in elderly, debilitated, or compromised animals.
Veterinary supervision is recommended, especially for long‑term use.
