Common Use

Malegra is the brand name for Sildenafil Citrate. This medication is used to treat erectile dysfunction. It works by restoring blood flow to the penis, making it easier to achieve and sustain longer erections through the relaxation and expansion of arteries.

Dosage and Direction

Take Malegra 30 minutes before intercourse on an empty stomach, and eat after intercourse. A dose of 100mg has an active effect lasting 2-3 hours. Effective doses range from 100-400 mg per day.

Precautions

Malegra is not recommended for men for whom sexual activity is inadvisable due to underlying cardiovascular conditions. Caution is advised in patients with:

• Retinitis pigmentosa.

Possible Side Effects

Common side effects of Malegra include:

Drug Interaction

Malegra must not be used with nitrate-containing medications, as it can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure to unsafe or life-threatening levels. This includes nitroglycerin. Malegra's blood levels can be increased by:

• Erythromycin
• Cimetidine
• Saquinavir
• Ritonavir
• Ketoconazole
• Itraconazole

Inform your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you use, especially:

• Alpha-blocker medications (e.g., doxazosin, prazosin, terazosin).
• Other medications for impotence.
• Bosentan.
• High blood pressure medications.
• Drugs affecting liver enzymes that remove sildenafil from your body (e.g., azole antifungals, macrolide antibiotics, cimetidine, rifamycins, St. John's wort, anti-seizure medications, HIV protease inhibitors).

Missed Dose

Malegra is taken as needed. Do not take more than the recommended dose.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical attention if you suspect an overdose. Symptoms may include nausea, fainting, lightheadedness, irregular heartbeat, and chest pain.

Storage

Store Malegra at room temperature, below 25°C (77°F), and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
