Common Use
Estradiol belongs to the class of medications called estrogen replacement therapy. Estrogen is a hormone produced by the ovaries. Specific estrogen receptors are located in various organs, including the uterus, vagina, urethra, mammary glands, liver, hypothalamus, and pituitary.

Estradiol is primarily used to treat menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, burning, and irritation. It is also prescribed for certain cancer treatments in both women and men, as well as for osteoporosis management.
