Dymista combines azelastine, an antihistamine, and fluticasone, a corticosteroid, to relieve the nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis. It works by blocking histamine and reducing inflammation in the nasal passages.
Dymista is usually administered as 1–2 sprays in each nostril twice daily, or as directed by your healthcare provider. Tilt your head slightly forward, gently blow your nose before use, and do not exceed the recommended dose.
Inform your doctor if you have glaucoma, cataracts, nasal or throat infections, or a history of nasal surgery. Avoid exposure to airborne infections while using the spray and monitor for persistent nosebleeds or irritation.
Do not use Dymista if you are allergic to azelastine, fluticasone, or any component of the nasal spray.
Common side effects include nasal irritation, bitter taste, headache, and mild nosebleeds. Rare but serious side effects may include severe allergic reactions, vision changes, or signs of infection. Seek medical attention if severe symptoms occur.
Dymista may interact with other nasal corticosteroids or medications affecting the immune system. Inform your doctor about all prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, and supplements you are taking.
If a dose is missed, administer it as soon as you remember. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
Overdose may cause excessive nasal irritation or systemic corticosteroid effects. Seek medical attention if overdose is suspected.
Store Dymista at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children.
