Common Use

Dutas is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as benign prostatic hypertrophy or benign enlargement of the prostate (BEP). It addresses the increase in prostate size in men. Dutas helps decrease urinary retention, reduces the risk of surgery, and untreated BPH may contribute to prostate cancer.

Dosage and Direction

Take Dutas orally with a glass of water, with or without food. Do not cut, crush, chew, or open the capsules; swallow them whole. Avoid exceeding the recommended dose. Consult your doctor for the proper dosage tailored to your needs.

Precautions

Before taking Dutas, inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are hypersensitive to the drug or finasteride, or if you have any other food or drug allergies. This medication is not for women or children. Pregnant women should avoid handling it to prevent harm to the unborn baby. Notify your doctor if you have a history of prostate cancer or liver disease. Do not stop treatment abruptly. It may take up to 6 months to see the benefits of Dutas.

Contraindications

Dutas is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Avodart or other 5α-reductase inhibitors.

Possible Side Effects

• Nausea, diarrhea, or vomiting
• Jaundice
• Loss of appetite
• Decreased sex drive
• Breast enlargement or tenderness (gynecomastia)
• Erectile dysfunction
• Difficulty ejaculating
• Reduced semen volume

Drug Interactions

Inform your doctor about all medications and herbal products you are taking, especially:

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not take a double or extra dose.

Storage

Store Dutas at room temperature between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F). Keep it away from heat, moisture, and sunlight. Ensure it is out of reach of children.
