Common Use
This product contains Drospirenone (a synthetic hormone progestin) and Ethinyl Estradiol and is used as a preventive drug to avoid pregnancy. It interferes with a woman's menstrual cycle by tricking the body into behaving as if ovulation has occurred, even when it hasn't. As a result, the ovaries do not release a ripened egg. The medication also alters cervical mucus and uterine lining conditions, preventing sperm cells from reaching the uterus and stopping fertilized eggs from attaching to the uterine wall.
Dosage and Direction
- Begin treatment on the first day of your menstrual cycle
- Take one pill daily at the same time
- If you miss a dose, take two pills at once
- Missing multiple doses increases pregnancy risk
- Do not combine with other contraceptive pills
Each active pill contains 3.0 mg of drospirenone and 0.030 mg of ethinyl estradiol. Seven inactive pills in each pack contain no hormones.
