Diflucan is an anti-fungal antibiotic used to treat fungal infections such as candidiasis. It is prescribed for various infections including vaginal, throat, urinary tract, peritonitis, and pneumonia. Diflucan works by killing sensitive fungi by interfering with the formation of the fungal cell membrane.
Take Diflucan orally once a day, with or without food, using the measuring spoon. For best results, take it at the same time each day with a full glass of water. Improvement is often felt within 24 hours, but symptoms may take a few days to completely disappear. If there is no improvement after a few days, consult your doctor immediately.
Note: Always consult your doctor before use for optimal results.
For vaginal yeast infections, a single dose of Diflucan is usually prescribed. If symptoms persist after 5 days, contact your doctor. Exercise caution if you have a history of liver or kidney disease. Diflucan may cause dizziness, so avoid driving or operating machinery. Limit alcohol intake. Do not use during pregnancy, if planning to become pregnant, or while breastfeeding without medical advice.
Diflucan is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to Fluconazole or other antifungal azole preparations (e.g., clotrimazole, ketoconazole, itraconazole). It is also contraindicated in cases of:
